Good news for us U.S. based strongman fans, there's no having to wait until Christmas time to watch the World's Strongest Man on TV this year, they'll be showing the 2017 WSM starting in two weeks on Thursday July 13th. :) Though it's still gonna take nearly 2 months for the competition to be televised in its entirety.

Hey Peter, did you watch it yet? What do you think so far?

First off I have to say that I'm disappointed Bill Kazmaier wasn't there this year to do the interviews and explain the events. I don't know why he wasn't there, whether he wasn't able to make it or wasn't offered the position or what. I mean no offense to Jenny Dell, but she's not as well suited for the role as Kaz and I think his absence is noticeable, so I hope he returns next year. Also, I'm not sure I'm a fan of this new set up where whomever's 1st place after 5 events automatically goes through to the final and the rest of the competitors in the group have to compete in the Last Man Standing event to decide the 2nd competitor who goes through to the final. Other than those 2 minor gripes, I enjoyed the competition so far as always. In particular, I think the "Gold Bullion Toss" was a cool new take on the Keg Toss event.

I remember about 18 yrs ago deadlifting in a gym in Belfast. I was struggling to slip on a plate, when Glenn Ross walked over and lifted a bar end for me. A real nice guy. I also recall him deadlifting and he ran out of sleeve space, and a plate came off!

Sorry for the late reply Peter. Yes, this was the event promoted by Glenn Ross in Northern Ireland.
