Re: Expanders

Hi Peter, Yes I am glad to. Because the back press is a great exercise. And was actually one of the main reasons I went back to try strandpulling again. Because it's a big movement that works the shoulders lateral head. Something missing from bodyweight training unless you do handstand push-ups. Bra...

Re: Expanders

Just tried the back press with split rings to extend the springs. Worked a treat 😀 Just those 2/3 extra inches in length made it easier to get the cables into position and left me less cramped. Will try it tomorrow as a workout with the four exercises in that order.

Re: Expanders

Hi Peter, Yes I know you can do leg exercises with cables as I have done some in the past. But they're not for me. I prefer bodyweight exercises now. The one leg squat I do and is an excellent leg exercise. And I have gotten better calf development from one leg calf raises than I ever got from weigh...

Re: Expanders

Hi Peter, I am the opposite and find the back press more uncomfortable, and it irritates my elbow. Although I am still doing it. The best advice regarding exercise selection is "the best exercise is the one you do". Couldn't agree more. As you may remember I have been 100% bodyweight the last two ye...

Re: Expanders

Forgot to mention in my post yesterday that besides cables improving the muscle groups of shoulders, back and triceps fantastically, and quickly. I can't praise them enough for improving my posture. I can't help but stand taller. I think the fcp should be a compulsory lift for everybody!

Re: Expanders

Its nearly May now. So I'm writing to report about my strandpulling since January. So in 3 1/2 months I have noticed some great success. Been doing training between 3 to 5 times a week. Only 1 set per exercise. I use steel spring sets, as although I have access to rubber. I prefer the smooth pull. S...

Re: Expanders

Thanks for reply Tom. Yes customs is a killer. £30! I got stung on something from USA last year. Like yours postage cost was good, but customs stung me for more than postage. I have got round the changing of springs(like Peter has) by having many sets of handles. Which means I don't have to change s...

Re: Expanders

Hi Tom, I'm afraid it's a waste of time. I am on the strandpulling forum on Tapatalk and members on that forum(noticed from previously unread thread) like me have tried to contact springmasters( as in last few months) and it seems that the springs are still advertised, but not in stock. Others got n...

Re: Expanders

We are lucky then, because I too have several sets of steel expanders now, with various strength levels. I am a recent convert to the steel having used ironmind fabled cables many years ago. I am returning to strandpulling having been exclusively bodyweight for the last two years. I too prefer steel...

Re: Expanders

Indeed Ritchie. When I googled them the other day found list on their website from 5lb to 50lb. I haven't been in touch with them. I take it that was a recent enquiry? True a 5lb spring only isn't great. But if you already have other strengths 5lb is like microloading in weights. I had great success...
