I have noticed that there have been quite a number of new members joining the forum. This is a really friendly and respectful group who also have a lot of training experience and knowledge of the iron game history. It seems over the years only a very small percentage of those who sign up for the forum introduce themselves or even post anything or join in discussions. Everyone's opinion is welcome as long as it delivered in a respectful manner. The more input from members the more we can all learn and benefit. So if you are a new member please take a few moments to introduce yourself to the group and be officially welcomed. For new members and those who have not yet done so please also consider posting on one of the threads and for those members who have not been around for a while, please come back you are missed.
Regards,Peter.

I'll "second" that! We can all learn from each other. I've been in the iron game since the early 1970's and I know there are members here who've been into it longer than I have! I am constantly learning. One of the things I learned during my physical culture journey is that there is always something we can learn from each other....something we didn't think of or consider in our training. I'm always willing to impart any knowledge I have to those who have questions about anything regarding Olympic style weightlifting (something I did for years) and/or powerlifting - something I competed in for two decades!
This forum, in my humble opinion, is one of the better forums out there for training information and general "old school" knowledge regarding training! "Old guys rule" is my motto!
Cheers!
John

This forum is also being copied by other websites that can't readily come
up with their own original content . One " Old Time " site blogged a discussion
word for word . Peter turned me on to this . FYI a magazine publisher potshotted
HOPC in an effort to make a buck . This is what happens when you are friendly
creative and sincere and have remarkable reference library composed "in house".

Hi Sticks, yes that guy needs a lesson in good manners.Still what can you expect from someone who takes over a top notch bodybuilding mag and turns it into a soft porn and gossip rag? We have something worthwhile here and it will only get better.

I'm just seeing this now. All I can say is "Wow". What discussion got blogged word for word? I assume no credit was given? And I'm certainly sorry to hear that some magazine publisher took potshots at the HOPC. Ridiculous....sticksb wrote: ↑Mon Feb 04, 2019 7:49 pmThis forum is also being copied by other websites that can't readily come

When we were benching double bodyweight, most of those guys were still playing with their kiddies rattles and needed a change of nappies./diaphers. David Gentle

Hi Danny, as always nice to see you on the forum. Just the other day i saw a blog post by a well known "strength" writer remarking about and old time strongman. It was almost exactly what i had previously written about the same man. The thing is in the past this guys opinion was different than in his recent blog, which makes me conclude he read and copied what i had said.DannyBoy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 12:02 amI'm just seeing this now.
