If you look at the photo, thats Earle Maynard the "under dog" note the audience, it must have been when he did a far east tour of Japan. Earle a great bodybuilder and lovely bloke was a great pal of Oscar Heidenstam and his home in the Bahamas is called "Oscar" Oscar was also god father to Earle's chavies or kids. as you know not only a Mr Universe but also great wrestler and was in the Bond movies.David Gentle

David did you know Chin Wint ? He was a training partner to Earl back in the 70's .
I wrote to Earl many years ago inquiring as to training details and Chin wrote me
back and included their workout in the letter . He was Jamacian .

Hey Chris, do you still have that workout? I would be interested to know what it was.

I don't have the old letter anymore but I can recall most of it .
Leg Press (old vertical wall mount) 3 sets x 15 with 300#/400#/475#
Hack Squat (board) 3 sets x 12-15 with 125#
Toe Press (vert.L.P.again) 3 sets 20 with 475#
Bench Press (with bench under the leg press) 3-4 sets x 10-12 reps with 300-350#
High Incline Press (60 degrees on the leg press set-up) 3 sets x 10 with 200#
Side Raises 3 sets x 10 reps with 50#ers
Barbell Cheat Curl 3 sets with over 200#
Dips with weight 3 sets x 12-15 + 50#
Pull-ups with weight 3 sets x 12-15 + 50#
various cross pulley work to finish . The old vertical leg press was obviously the center piece of the gym and
Earl and Chin used it in smith machine fashion and blocked it at different heights for different movements . Earl was fabulously strong on the barbell curl and did a strict one with 250# . Great stamps on the original letter from the West Indies.
