I'm still somewhat restricted in the angle I can get my left arm too. I might see if I can do a high position seated BB press once I get to the 140-kilos Bench Press

Hi Peter, they've 12 metal 25-kilo plates. Trust me I've run the numbers in my head ha ha. I had to use a few thin width rubber trimmed ones on the Power Squat machine. One was on the cusp of falling off so I had Ken (spotting the safety handles) keep an eye on it. I think with the 25's I can get it loaded to about 500-kilos... maybe a little less as they are oh so slightly thicker than the metal 20's. I use them all on the leg press hence maxing that at 700-kilos.

Equally, there are a bunch of what I call stacker plates. They are about 5-kilos and there is 6 of them plus one half size plate. There was a 7th but it's gone walkabout. The safety cages on all selectorized machine in most commercial gyms means I can't use a selector pin to pin weights to the stack. Such are the problems of a strength athlete ha ha.

It's a mind set thing. When asked I explain it thus. Our gym has a shorter size frame for the weights to slide in which means many of them use what's called a double ratio pulley set up. Most are the same make and use what I assume are 10-kilo selector plates. But that means 200-kilos in dead weight is somewhere around 120-140-kilos at the most. I usually just count X plates (say 10 ore 15 or the stack) rather than over think the amount of weight I might be moving.

Even on many of the loadable Hammer Strength Iso-lever style machines I'll look at the pin and think 6-plates not 120-kilos and so on. Plus I'll often state 'after this many years I ought to be strong' lol.

Yes . Is that what made your face turn blue on FB ? I haven't purchased
discs in years . Going strictly by glitz . If I needed heavy machine loaders
I would go to my buddy Lon Startt and his trusty torch and supply of deck
plate . The plates were ugly and dangerous looking (like Lon) but accurate
and did the job . Local fab guys could get me anything I wanted if I supplied
the prints & pictures . Prints with dimmies on the front and naked ladies on
the back ....always got a few buck off for that and free beer & chuckles .
