Steve, have you been training to gain weight or is this just happening naturally? Have you an optimum weight at which you are at your best?

Thursday
Too damn quick of a workout I think. Breakfast felt like it hadn't kicked in and we was done in 40 or so minutes. Shay and Dom. Decided not to throw the 100kg dumbbells around but do 15's on curls too.

Seated Press
to 112.5kg x 4 reps (heavy)

Hammer Curls
to 86lbs x 15 reps

TPD
to 13p x 10 reps

Bwt: 313lbs

Forearm flexors feel a little stiff from Tuesday's w/out.

Bought / ordered a squat machine yesterday via eBay

Hi Peter, just naturally happened. In fact, with or without drugs, I've found that you have a kind of cyclic gain or maintain. Your body will grow as and when it's ready. Although I note it and, as a lifter I still have a 'builder' in me too, I enjoy being 'big' it's not the focus of my training.

As for optimal - at the mo I'd say 290lbs probably. Most of that difference could come off the waist lol. I doubt if I'm eating more than 3000kcals total. However, I do think I start light and then eat loads by the end of the day.

Back at my peak I think it was 290-300lbs and I'd hold 280 all year long (indeed I stayed at that for 2 years straight with the 290-300 being highs in that period). When I had my 16 week back injury I went down to 270.

Thanks for the reply Steve.Yes that variation seems to happen if and when the body is ready regardless of food or drug intake. In my own case putting on ounces has been a task in general but then a growth spurt would happen when i least expected it. Strange as it may seem i have had muscle growth this year at almost 70, increase on arms, shoulders and thighs, waist stayed the same and 3lb increase maintained. Go figure, though i am not complaining.
Regards,Peter.
