Canadian General Elections 1935 onwards

These postings will be a summary of every general election held in Canada since 1935. I have chosen that date because true democracy was established at that election, which I define as women having the vote and each riding electing a single MP.

Liberal Party 1,967,839 votes (47%) winning 171 seats
Conservative Party 1,290,671 votes (30%) winning 39 seats
Social Credit Party 180,679 votes (4%) winning 17 seats
Co-operative Commonwealth Party 410,125 votes (9%) winning 7 seats
Liberal Progressive Party 29,569 votes (1%) winning 4 seats
Reconstruction Party 384,462 votes (9%) winning 1 seat
Independents 72,524 votes (2%) winning 3 seats
United Farmers of Ontario 7,210 votes (0%) winning 1 seat
Other Parties 61,222 votes (1%) winning 0 seats
Liberal Party lead of 677,168 votes (17%) with an overall majority of 97 seats

Liberal Party 2,365,979 votes (51% +4%) winning 179 seats (+8)
National Government / Conservative coalition 1,402,059 votes (30%, unchanged on Conservatives 1935) winning 39 seats (unchanged on Conservatives 1935)
Co-Operative Commonwealth Party 388,103 votes (8% -1%) winning 8 seats (+1)
Social Credit Party and New Democracy coalition 119,354 votes (3% -1% on Social Credit 1935) winning 10 seats (-7 on Social Credit 1935)
Liberal Progressive Party 27,815 votes (1% unchanged) winning 3 seats (-1)
Independents 214,894 votes (5% +3%) winning 4 seats (+1)
