another great read from david.paul getty attended a couple of universes back in the day.wonder if he ever chipped in a few bob in sponsership. he was famous for his meanness. i have a friend who had a meal with him and a few others, when it came to pay getty said he had forgot his wallet. len sell and reub martin were amongst those at the meal. getty had a great intrest in the weights. in the 1920s he offered herman goerner 100 pounds if he could deadlift a certain weight, cant remember the poundage, 100 pounds was a huge ammount of cash back then.

Another fun read from David.Yes Ray, Getty was noted for his meanness but from what i understand, and David will know more about this,Getty helped either Pullum or Oscar out financially when Health and Strength were having difficulties. We need someone like that now to resurrect H&S.
Regards,Peter.
