I just found out via Joe Roark that British bodybuilding stalwart Malcolm Whyatt passed away on September 16th. Malcolm worked tirelessly to promote Bodybuilding and Physical Culture and was at one time owner of Health and Strength magazine. Following Ron Tyrrell and David Gentle this makes three of the premier PC historians to have left us this year.Condolences to his wife and family.
Sincerely,Peter.

I exchanged a few emails with Malcolm and chatted to him briefly at the NABBA Mr Universe. He seemed a lovely man and his commitment to, and involvement in, physical culture was immeasurable. How terribly sad.
My thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP Malcolm.

Thanks Diane, H&S had a long and interesting run with many owners, too bad it came to a sudden and abrupt end.Malcolm did a great job in documenting H&S and also NABBA history.
Regards,Peter.

Last year Malcolm submitted a special report (approx. 7 pages - small print) to the HOPC entitled
"A Detailed and Scholarly History of:
- British Amateur Weight Lifting, B.A.W.L.A.
- NABBA
- Mr. and Miss Britain and Universe Contests
- Health and Strength magazine"

The report contained the following proviso:
"Fully copyrighted, no usage or copying of this material without the full written agreement of the Author, Malcolm Whyatt. Published on DavidGentle.com site with full and special permission of Malcolm Whyatt.
With Full acknowledgements and thanks to Malcolm Whyatt, Diane Robert and David Gentle"

This matter is long overdue. I've struggled with the notion that once Malcolm's report is published in the open access area of our site, it could easily be copied and added to a wide variety of other websites.
Perhaps the best approach is to publish the report in the HOPC Library?

I'll have a look. It'd be a great way to mark his passing. I'm still missing some issues myself. If I can it'll be as images as all the MM files are/were on an old PC long gone.

I've just had a look at it amounts to 10 or so pages (I DO have these issues) spread over three parts (1 per issue). That'll take an hour to transfer from the camera to phone to pc to an image host. I'll start with part one now while I wait for deliveries.

Also worthwhile reproducing was a bio of David Gentle's which we included in our 50th issue extra.
