Oscar Heidenstam "Modern Bodybuilding"

Post by Tom K » Mon Oct 21, 2019 8:55 am

Hello,

Does anyone have any information or resources about Oscar Heidenstam's "Modern Bodybuilding" book? I can only find a photo of the front cover.

I think it was written in the 1980s? Is it about his own training from the 1930's or is it a modern book about routines in the 1980s? Thank you. If it is a book full of steroid physiques then I won't be interested, I'm hoping it is about his own training?

@Tm K.: There are many editions listed on Amazon, with older, early 1960s versions listing D. G. Johnson as co-author.

HI Mate, I have an original first edition with dust cover( which is a bit frayed, but book vgc, ) written for the home trainer, both free and weight training schedules , plus diet, well recommended for the natural healthy bodybuilder, its the only copy i have but you can have it for a tenner, thats post paid by me, pay via pay pal, thats as long as you live in uk, cant sell it overseas too much post. my pay pal account is davidfgentle@hotmail.co.uk. So if you want it, and its not a copy, but original, then you need to email my your home address, and pay upfront via pay pal. No worries if you dont wish to do this or have already bought a copy as even whilst i am typing this am having second thoughts about selling, so better make it fast mate. David Gentle

Its worth far more than a tenner! Thanks for the offer though. If you can recommend it as a book worth having, I will track it down.

Are there any differences between the original and "modern" versions? Thanks

Thanks for that tip! If I search "oscar Heidenstam" the books are listed quite expensively. If I looked up D G Johnson, it seems to slip the sellers notice that the book maybe more valuable :D

I bought a 2nd edition for £4 with delivery, paperback in "very good condition". For that price it is a steal, cheers! I will see if any of it is worth preserving and adding to my own archives online.
