Jan served over 25 years with York and was editor of Grimeks magazine Muscular Development. Hi David, i am in total agreement about this book.It is a great piece of history, well written and full of inside York stories, plus some terrific training articles, covering a multitude of topics. Get a copy if you can, you will not regret it.

I recently picked up a copy of this book and makes for an interesting read.
The author is certainly articulate and has obviously met many of the top names in the PC world.
What was a bit wearisome was the non-stop name dropping and the style. There's a 350 word sentence on pp 23/24 -don't try applying the Gunning Fog Index to that!

Hi Handson, glad you were able to get the book. The main thing is it has a lot of good info on many levels.Knowing Jan personally and that he is a humble person, i do not feel he is "name dropping" but just genuinely sharing information about the many people he has met and known in the iron game over the years.Working at York and for much of that time as editor of Muscular Development,plus sharing an office with Grimek gave access to many of the top names in sports and the iron game.He was privy to much that the rest of us could never imagine and his stories of that time and what Grimek told him of earlier days are fascinating.Plus most of all he is really nice guy.
