Lung and Muscle Culture

Post by drob357 » Fri Apr 05, 2019 1:29 pm

Greetings All,

One of our Library subscribers is seeking to find the training methods and exercises used by Professor Von Boeckmann of NYC published at beginning of the 20th century. Our subscriber has a copy of Boeckmann's book entitled "Lung and Muscle Culture" in which the author references his mail order catalogs that describe the exercises. We hope to retrieve a copy of these exercises if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Yes, i too would like to see the Prof's book, i remember seeing in old Strength and Physical Culture mags ads from the Prof, he also did either invent, or certainly use some weird apparatus made of wood and pulleys supposedly to exercise the whole body, the sort of thing our old Sticks could knock out on a Saturday nights coming home from the pub. if i find the pix and they are certainly inventive, will post them.I can see him now in my minds eye straining against some chain affair, help me out if you too have seen what i am on about.
