It is with a sad heart i report the passing of my dear friend and fellow iron slinger,Kev Fitzgerald.Kev left us on Sunday night May 31st. just weeks after burying his wife of 66 years,Diana, he was 84. For the past few years Kev had been caring for his ailing wife and it took a real toll on him.He has always been a strong and healthy man so it was a surprise when a few weeks ago his lungs filled with fluid and he was diagnosed with late stage lung cancer related to working with asbestos. All of those he worked with died soon after retiring but Kev never had any issues until recently,he put that down to his life long training.Although i will miss him and our training sessions i know he is now with the love of his life, in a better place and at peace. You can read more about this remarkable man in the HOPC library in the article "Deafness of the Mind,Triumph of the Spirit." Rest in Peace my dear friend.
Regards,Peter.

Re: Kevin Fitzgereald
I am very sorry for your loss Peter. Although I didn't know Kevin personally, from all accounts, he was a remarkable man and weight lifter, truly an inspiration to us all.
I dug into our HOPC Library and took a copy of the article you wrote on Kevin's life entitled, "Deafness of the Mind,Triumph of the Spirit." and published it in the public area of our website. To view the article and post comments, please visit https://www.davidgentle.com/hopc/passin ... tzgerald/
May Kevin rest in peace along with his dear wife, Diana. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.
Blessings,
Diane
