Has anyone read Bill Pearl's 3 volume tome Legends of the Iron Game? The 3 volume set is $109 in the US but it doesn't post to the UK. Someone is currently listing the set on eBay UK though - with a starting bid of £200 which is double the US price. If anyone has had the opportunity to peruse it I'd be grateful for their review of it as even though I am very tempted, it is a lot of money. Would be good to know if others think it is worth it before I turn out my piggy bank.
Many thanks.

If you do go ahead, might be worth checking with a reshipper like: https://www.reship.com/ You get a one-use US address basically, then they send it on to you (for a fee). Course if they have heft then that £200 might be not far off.

Thank you for that Richie - I’ll look into it.
Best wishes.
PS. It was a thoughtful recommendation but for a 6kg package (which is what the set is) it’d be around $100 for the cheapest service. Maybe the £200 from eBay is attractive after all.

Tony, i have the set signed by Bill.It is very well put together and contains a lot of information about iron game pioneers. Our David gets a fair bit of coverage for his contributions, as well he should. If i was coming over to the UK i would not mind bringing them for you. However with the C-virus who knows when i can get there.

That is more than kind Peter - and more than I could ask - but thank you for the lovely offer all the same.peter yates wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 6:24 pmTony, i have the set signed by Bill.It is very well put together and contains a lot of information about iron game pioneers. Our David gets a fair bit of coverage for his contributions, as well he should. If i was coming over to the UK i would not mind bringing them for you. However with the C-virus who knows when i can get there.

I’m tempted to go ahead with the eBay purchase now you have confirmed that they are a worthwhile addition to the collection.
Best wishes.

Tony, it would not be any trouble to do so, but it may be some time before i could make it over. You may not get a better deal than the price offered , but you never know.Kazza61 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 1:16 amThat is more than kind Peter - and more than I could ask - but thank you for the lovely offer all the same.peter yates wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 6:24 pmTony, i have the set signed by Bill.It is very well put together and contains a lot of information about iron game pioneers. Our David gets a fair bit of coverage for his contributions, as well he should. If i was coming over to the UK i would not mind bringing them for you. However with the C-virus who knows when i can get there.
