Warren Thomas Tetting

Post by peter yates » Fri Oct 11, 2019 7:20 pm

Just heard that Warren Tetting has recently passed away at the age of 86. Tetting took the early nut cracker grippers that commonly came with sets of expanders to a whole other level.Previously the grippers were suitable only for those new to strength training, but they were soon grown out of. Tetting with a background in engineering created an much stronger gripper, replacing the usual wooden handles with steel ones.He first advertised them in Peary Radar's Iron Man magazine over 50 years ago. They were known as Iron Man grip developers and while much stronger than what had been before,Tetting went on to create even stronger versions. These were welcomed by the strength community and have become a major tool in both grip development and grip testing. He also manufactured other training equipment but is mostly known for his putting full strength training grippers on the map.May he rest in peace and condolences to family and friends.
Regards,Peter.
