Farewell Robert Conrad

Post by peter yates » Sat Feb 08, 2020 3:31 pm

I just became informed that actor/singer Robert Conrad has passed away at 84 years of age. Conrad became a household name for his roles in Hawaiian Eye and Wild Wild West TV, shows. Conrad was also a lifelong exercise fan, including weight training in his program. He is on a list of those i will be writing about for the movie muscles series. He is survived by 8 children and 18 grandchildren.RIP Robert Conrad.
Regards,Peter.

Hi Peter. I remember him from Baa Baa Black Sheep/ Black Sheep Squadron. There was also an episode of "Columbo" where he played an physical fitness entrepreneur who murders his partner and thinks he committed the perfect crime until he is foiled by Lt. Columbo. One of my favorite episodes of the series, it was titled " An Exercise in Fatality."
RIP.

Thanks for the cover photo Jim.As you know his training routine was in that edition,a big fan of dumbbells and also did some boxing. While not a big man his muscular, compact build would be something many men would aspire to.He kept in shape most of his life unlike many of today's actors who just get "in shape" for a movie role with a personal trainer.
Regards,Peter.

Saw him on an old Columbo episode recently. He played a Joe Weider type of character (gym, vitamins, etc).

He was on the phone at his desk w/ someone named "Arnold" in the episode. "Yes Arnold, OK Arnold, Bye Arnold". Pretty funny.
