john lear passes

john lear passed a couple of days ago. he was born in shewsbury in august 1935. john was british weightlifting coach for over 50 years. he represented britain at 9 olympic games and 9 commonwealth games. as well as numerous european and world championships.he co authored many books with al murray. he sat on the british olympic commitee and worked with numerous british sporting bodies including the british rowing devising and implimenting weight training programes.his contribution to british weightlifting and british sport in general is unprecedented and will likley never be replicated. may he sleep well.

Sorry to hear about John, i still have his lifting book he wrote years ago. RIP David Gentle

Sorry to hear this.He dedicated his life to the betterment of Weightlifting and improving sports in general.Condolences to his family.May he rest in peace.
